Humber Rescue returned to the vessel which had grounded on Reeds Island a couple of weeks before, 2 Rescue Boats where launched including our IRB1 “Sue Roberts” which aided the main Rescue Boat in placing crew onto the Plateau of Reeds Island. Crews on the Island placed a long towline onto the vessel in readiness and waited for the high tide.
Finally the vessel refloated on a higher than predicted tide which enabled us to tow her to deeper water and try her engines. The casualty vessels engines started and after safety checks made way to Hull Marina. En Route to the marina her engines suffered cooling issues due to the intake of mud and sand which had caused a blockage, so the vessel was taken back on tow up to the Marina Basin. The casualty vessel entered the lock gates and found safe berth.
Humber Rescue returned to station and closed down
